Building Arizona’s Healthcare Workforce
Arizona’s need for doctors, nurses, behavioral health, and allied health professions is growing sharply. The Office of Strategic Initiatives is working with its partners and state leaders to meet these needs.
Led by the Arizona Board of Regents, AZ Healthy Tomorrow is a bold initiative that seeks to meet Arizona’s healthcare needs at Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. Each university is working to educate and prepare more doctors, nurses, behavioral heath and allied health professionals. As a part of the multi-faceted initiative, ASU and NAU plan to open medical schools, Arizona plans to expand their medical schools in Phoenix and Tucson, and increase nursing and health care graduates. Governor Hobbs has invested a total of $72M in these programs to date.
